Inspired by my friend Theresa over at Knitterary, I’m putting $1 into a yarn fund for each kilometre I walk on the treadmill (or equivalent of serious exercise), and limiting my yarn and fibre expenditure to what’s available in the yarn fund. I need to exercise more for both general fitness and for weight loss, so as well as the $1 per kilometre, I’ll motivate myself to keep eating healthily by adding $5 for each kilo that comes off (and will ‘fine’ myself if it goes back on!) If I walk every day for seven days straight, averaging at least 1.7 kilometres per day, that will earn a bonus $10.
